Local Planning Authorities are required to prepare and publish registers of Brownfield sites which meet relevant criteria to qualify as potentially appropriate for residential development.
There are two parts to the BLR. Part 1 comprises all sites which meet the initial qualifying criteria and Part 2 includes only sites that the Local Planning Authority has assessed as suitable for a grant of permission in principle for residential development.
Calls for Sites are often held to enable landowners or Agents to promote sites for inclusion on the BLR.
